The Permanent Allan Harris Conference on Education was adopted by TTIWI in 1999. It commemorates a member whose life and work we agreed epitomized the ideal TTIWI Fellow. It invites members of the community at home and abroad to join the members of our college to make a periodic retreat from routine activity to engage in communion and simply take stock.
Four sittings have so far been held though none has approached the scale of the Inaugural which turned out to be a fully regional occasion as planned, even if it cannot be said to have permitted discussion and debate of the scope of the other three.
The most recent sitting was held on Nov 28 2004 and was devoted to the matter of Constitution Reform. The middle two sittings, the first on Feb. 2002, the second in Nov. 2003, both treated the subject of Education Reform. Conference papers have appeared in the T&T Review
